For the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica will be organizing celebration of the “ONE HEALTH DAY”. For this purpose, an expert meeting on the topic : ” One Health in BiH” will be held at the Hotel Zenica, the City of Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, monday 05th november, 2018, starting at 10am.
The expert meeting is intended for all stakeholders, government officials, public institutions representatives, researchers, private sector and others (doctors, veterinarians, environmental protection experts, food technologists, sanitary engineers and others).
The aim of the expert meeting is to introduce the participants, but also the general public in BiH, with One Health initiative in order to explain the principles and importance of multisectoral cooperation in everyday work, and to promote integration of human, animal and environmental health.

The aim of the expert meeting is to introduce the participants, but also the general public in BiH, with One Health initiative to explain the principles and importance of multisectoral cooperation in everyday work, and to promote integration of human, animal, plant and environmental health.
During the conference, it is planned to hold three presentations:
- Presentation of One Health Initiative as a global movement
- A practical example of brucellosis through One Health approach
- Presentation of the Functional Center “One Health” within the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica
This event points to the importance of multisectoral and collaborative approaches of scientist and experts from various sectors, such as public health, animal health, plant health and environmental protection, which should pool forces to support the “One health“ approach.
